Responsible Reform 2

Have been apoliticking - have sent our chaps in the Lords a copy of the report in post below.
My Lord Archbishop / Bishop,
I am writing in reference to the Welfare Reform Bill currently in process in the house of Lords.
I wish to draw your attention to a research report published this week, in the particular respect of Disability Living Allowance. Responsible Reform has been researched, written and wholly funded by people whose lives are being and will be affected by the changes proposed by the government in this bill. I am just one of them. The report argues thatreform must be measured, responsible and transparent, based on available evidence and designed with disabled peopleat the very heart of decision-making. In doing so it evidences that the consultation undertaken by the government in respect of this particular benefit, wilfully ignores the tenor, content and numerical responses received and thereby; the responses, contributions and fears of those who are disabled in our society have been marginalised at best and misrepresented at worst.
I am writing to request that you may in your deliberations on the bill consider the voice of this constituent group and consider the findings of this report as you weigh your responses to debate and vote in the house. I thank you for your consideration.
Neal Terry,
Longbenton, St.Mary Magdalene.

Excellent letter, Neal. I hope it stirs the clergy to effective action.

I have received several encouraging reponses from a number of the Bishops, so we shall see what happens on Tuesday.

Good. I've said a prayer. That should do it. ;-)
